How to Use

How to Set-up Widgets

  1. Widget is a fancy word for button. This App has an Emergency-Alert™ widget and a Safe-Alert™ widget.
  2. Exit this App, go to your mobile phone’s home screen and long tap it. Select the option for widgets.
  3. Scroll and select the Emergency-Alert™ widget, then drag and place it on your mobile desktop. Repeat steps for the Safe-Alert™ widget.
  4. To send your alerts, simply tap the widgets. You do not need to open the App. It makes it more convenient and fast to send alerts.

How to Add Family & Friends to your Alerts Group

  1. You can add your family & friends to your group by going in the settings menu and tapping the Add Friends icon.
  2. Select directly from your mobile phone’s contact list.
  3. Add up to 10 mobile numbers.
  4. Add unlimited E-mail IDs.
  5. Tap the Save icon to save your selection.
  6. Your family and friends will automatically be added to your group. They will receive an SMS on their mobile phone confirming that they have been added to your group.

Important Tips:

  1. Don’t forget to inform your family & friends before adding them so that they know how to react to your alerts.
  2. You cannot send alerts until and unless you have numbers in your alerts group.

How to Send Emergency-Alerts™

  1. In an emergency, don’t panic. Use the widget, power button or in-app icon to send voice, sms, pop-up message and email alerts to your family & friends.
  2. These alerts will tell your family & friends that you need help and provide your location.
  3. The App automatically takes photos with the front and back camera, records a sound clip. And emails them to your group.

How to Send Emergency-Alerts™ with Location Tracking

  1. Go to the settings menu and tap on the Configure Tracking icon.
  2. Configure interval for sending the location updates to your group.
  3. Enable tracking by tapping the checkbox followed by a tap on the save icon.
  4. Now when you send an Emergency-Alert™, your group members will receive your location updates at configurable intervals.

How to Send Safe-Alerts™

  1. If you’re running late or held up, send a free Safe-Alert™ instead of calling or sending a sms.
  2. Use the Safe widget or in-app icon to send a Safe-Alert™ to your group along with your location via sms and email. It is the best way to help your loved ones to not worry about your welfare.

How to Set-up the Virtual Bodyguard

  1. Go to the settings menu and tap on the Virtual Bodyguard icon. The Virtual Bodyguard lets you to set up a timed Emergency-Alert™.
  2. Set up the time after which you want the Emergency-Alert™ to get triggered.
  3. Tap on the ON/OFF button to Turn ON the Virtual Bodyguard and tap the Save icon.
  4. For example, it takes you one hour to reach home from office every day. Set a time of one hour on the Virtual Bodyguard timer. This way if you’re not home in one hour, the app will automatically send an Emergency-Alert™ to your group.

55100 EmergencyAlerts™ App is currently available for Android phone users. It will soon be available on iOS and Windows as well.

However, if you do not have an Android phone, you can always subscribe to the EmergencyAlerts™ service. All you need to do is dial 55100 from your Airtel or Vodafone mobile numbers.

You only require internet for sending alerts via email. All other service functionalities do not require internet access.

However, in the absence of internet, you might receive some encoded service messages used for communication by the App. These messages will not cause any harm to your phone. You can safely delete them.

Managing your 55100 EmergencyAlerts™ App account is very easy and convenient. You can manage your account and App feature settings from a single menu on the home-screen by tapping on the STATUS icon.

Go to the settings menu and tap the Add Friends icon.

  • Select directly from your mobile phone’s contact list.
  • Add both mobile numbers and E-mail IDs
  • Add multiple numbers of the same contact
  • Add up to 10 mobile numbers
  • Add unlimited E-mail IDs
  • All added numbers and E-mail IDs will receive alerts

Your family and friends will automatically be added to your group. They will receive an SMS on their mobile phone confirming that they have been added to your group.

Go to the settings menu and tap the Manage Friends icon. You will see a list of selected contacts, just uncheck them and tap the save icon to delete them from your group.

Yes, they can remove themselves anytime: By sending an SMS: NO <Your mobile number> to 8527355100 if you are an Airtel user and by sending an SMS: NO <Your mobile number> to 7567855100 if you are a Vodafone user.

They can also permanently block you from adding them to your group: By sending an SMS: BLOCK ON <Your mobile number> to 8527355100 if you are an Airtel user and by sending an SMS: BLOCK ON <Your mobile number> to 7567855100 if you are a Vodafone user.

You can send an Emergency-Alert™ in four ways:

  • Press the phone’s power button 4 times in quick succession, or
  • Tap the red Emergency widget on the mobile desktop, or
  • Tap the Emergency-Alert™ button in the App, or
  • Make a one second toll free call to 55100.

You can send a Safe-Alert™ in four ways:

  • Tap the green Safe widget on the mobile desktop, or
  • Tap the Safe-Alert™ button in the App, or
  • Dial 55100 toll free and press 2.
  • SMS SAFE to 55100 toll free.

The tracking feature sends your updated location to your family and friends in an emergency. When the tracking feature is ON, and you trigger an emergency alert, your loved ones will receive automatic LOCATION UPDATES at configurable intervals.

The tracking feature is currently only available with Emergency-Alerts™.

Enable/disable tracking from the single menu on the home-screen by tapping the Status icon or go to the settings menu and tap on the Configure Tracking icon. Just tap the checkbox to enable/disable tracking followed by a tap on the save icon.

Go to the settings menu and tap on the Manage Friends icon. You will see a list of selected contacts; they are your group members.

Go to the settings menu and tap on the My Account icon. You will see your subscription plan on this screen with an option to deactivate at the bottom. Tap the deactivate button and confirm your request to deactivate.

Go to the settings menu and tap on the Edit Name icon. Just type the new name and tap on the save icon to change your name.

For Airtel users:

Check the numbers in your group. You may not have tapped on the save icon while adding numbers to your group.

Most likely, this occurred due to a mistype during entering your name in the App.

  • Check if you have numbers or E-Mail IDs in your group.
  • Check the numbers and E-Mail IDs in your group to see if they are accurate. Or,
  • There may be a delay in the system or a system error, in which case you will have to try again.
  • Please cross check if you have added the correct Email ids in your group.
  • Please check if your mobile is connected to the internet.
  • You may not have configured your Email id to send Email alerts. In the Settings page, tap E-mail settings to configure your Email id as sender.

For Airtel users:

  • If you are trying to activate a new account, you will be activated with 1 day of service.
  • Your account will be suspended if you do not have enough balance in your mobile during renewal until such time the mobile balance is recharged. While you’re suspended, you will not be allowed to send alerts or manage your account.

For Vodafone users:

  • If you are trying to activate a new account, you will not be activated.
  • Your account will be added to a grace period of 3 days if you do not have enough balance in your mobile during renewal. While you’re in grace, you will be allowed to send alerts or manage your account. Your account will be suspended if we are not able to renew your account in 3 days. We will continue to try and renew you for next 7 days. While you’re suspended, you will not be allowed to send alerts during this period.

Your Pre-Paid account did not have Rs. 30 balance at the time you tried to activate the service. Thus, fallback prices were applied and charged.

  • Go to the setting menu and tap on the Add Friends icon and choose the contact from your phonebook to add them again.
  • However, you won’t be able to add them to your group, if they have permanently blocked you from adding themselves to your group.

How to Add Numbers

  1. If you haven’t already added numbers to your alerts group, dial 55100 and follow easy instructions.
  2. To add/delete numbers from your group anytime, dial 55100 & press 4.
  3. You and your group members will receive a confirmation message.
  4. Alternatively, you can sms ADD <Mobile number1> <Mobile number2>……<Mobile number10> to 55100 tollfree to add them in your group.

Important Tips:

  1. Note down the numbers of the people you want to add to your alerts group so that you have it handy while entering it in the IVR system.
  2. You can add a maximum of 10 numbers to your alerts group.
  3. You cannot send alerts until and unless you have numbers in your alerts group.

How to Send Safe-Alerts™

  1. To send Safe-Alerts™ with your location information to your group members, just dial 55100 & press 2.
  2. You can also sms SAFE and send it to 55100 toll free for sending Safe-Alerts™. It helps to keep your family worry free.

How to Send Emergency-Alerts™

  1. In an emergency, don’t panic. Just dial 55100 and disconnect as soon as the call connects. Your family & friends will receive your Emergency-Alert™ via voice call, pop-up message and SMS along with your location information. It will help them to reach you for help.

How to Send Emergency-Alerts™ with Location Tracking

  1. Dial 55100 & press 3 to enable tracking.
  2. Now when you send an Emergency-Alert™, your group members will receive your location updates every 10 minutes for 1 hour if you are an Airtel user and for 4 hours if you are a Vodafone user.
